Yes, in order to receive trade-up credit, the consumer must purchase a Motorola product from the Moto Store of equal or more value than the trade-up value, and should use their unique trade-up coupon code in the shopping cart.

Certain promotions might require that you purchase specific product(s) to be eligible for receiving trade-up value for your old cell phone.

  1. Do I have to buy a cell phone to be eligible to participate in the Trade-up program?

In order to receive trade-up credit, the consumer has to purchase any Motorola product on the Moto Store of value equal to or greater than the indicated trade-up value using their unique promotion code. However, certain promotions might require that you purchase specific products to be eligible for trade-up. Please refer to the trade-up website for the terms and conditions of the current promotion.

  1. What is the coupon code? How do I use it?

The coupon code is a unique code that is given once you receive the suggested value for your old cell phone. This coupon code validates your purchase at the Moto Store and ensures that you receive your cell phone value.

  1. How do I identify the model name or number of my cell phone?

Do not determine your handset model by a picture or user manual alone, as many handset models are nearly identical. Your handset’s model and serial (ESN or IMEI) numbers are usually located on the back of the phone.

To identify the model number of your handset:

  1. Turn off your handset.
  2. Remove the back cover from the handset and remove the battery.
  3. Your will usually see identification information or an ID tag or label (often with a bar code) on the back of your handset in the battery or SIM compartment. The handset model number should be located on that label. (see illustration 4.1)

Some manufacturers may not always list the model number as illustrated. If you need help identifying your handset, you can visit the manufacturer’s website or contact the manufacturers listed below. They will provide you with the model number assigned to the ESN number on the handset.
